Minimum Competency Standards

Remember these are minimum guideline standards to help you effectively choose the appropriate division for your team to enter.  As the competition progresses to the last two workouts you may be asked to perform higher level skills, higher volume work and heavier movements than what is listed below.

If you are on the cusp of going Rx, we challenge you to take the plunge and compete on an Rx team!

All weights listed below are based on a 1-3RM minimum, remember actual weight on the bar and volume may vary from what is listed below.


Men's Rx Division:
  • Clean at least 215lbs
  • Snatch at least 135lbs
  • Back Squat at least 300lbs
  • Deadlift at least 350lbs
  • Bench Press at least 225lbs
  • Must be able to perform Chest to Bar Pull Ups
  • Must be able to perform Double Unders
  • Must be able to perform Wall Ball with full ROM
  • Higher Level Gymnastics may be required in final two workouts

Women's Rx Division:
  • Clean at least 145lbs
  • Snatch at least 105lbs
  • Back Squat at least 200lbs
  • Deadlift at least 250lbs
  • Bench Press at least 135lbs
  • Must be able to perform Chin Over Bar Pull Ups
  • Must be able to perform Double Unders
  • Must be able to perform Wall Ball with full ROM
  • Higher Level Gymnastics may be required in final two workouts
Men's Scaled/Masters Division:
  • Clean at least 165lbs
  • Snatch at least 95lbs
  • Back Squat at least 225lbs
  • Deadlift at least 300lbs
  • Bench Press at least 185lbs
  • Must be able to perform Push Ups
  • Must be able to jump rope (Single Unders)
  • Must be able to perform Wall Ball with full ROM
  • Higher Level Gymnastics may be required in final two workouts

Women's Scaled/Masters Division:
  • Clean at least 105lbs
  • Snatch at least 65lbs
  • Back Squat at least 155lbs
  • Deadlift at least 185lbs
  • Bench Press at least 100lbs
  • Must be able to perform Push Ups
  • Must be able to jump rope (Single Unders)
  • Must be able to perform Wall Ball with full ROM
  • Higher Level Gymnastics may be required in final two workouts

EVENT 1: 
"Thruster Throwback"

4 Rep Max Thruster
Teams will have 8 minutes for all 4 athletes to establish a 4 Rep Max Thruster.
Standards
  • Barbell will come from the floor.
  • Verify weight on bar with judge.
  • Athletes must perform a full squat and in one motion stand and press the bar to an overhead position with elbows completely locked out.
  • 4 reps must be consecutive.

"Hang On"

Standards
This event will be relay style with one athlete working at a time, as they complete their round of work they must tag the next athlete in line.  Athletes will continue in this manner until the workout ends (10 min).
  • Athlete must deadlift the barbell to their waist before starting first hang clean rep, if they drop the bar before finishing all 15 reps they must again deadlift the bar to their waist before continuing with hang cleans
  • Athlete completing their round of work must tag the next athlete on their team before that person can start their hang cleans
  • These can be power or full cleans
  • Chest must contact bar for male Rx athletes, chin must clear the bar for female Rx athletes
  • Modified athletes must release both hands from the ground at the bottom of each push up, on the air squat they must break parallel at the bottom and come to full extension at the top of each rep
  • Tiebreaker is time that 1st full round is completed by all 4 athletes

"Stay With Me Now"

Standards
  • Athletes will work in pairs, second pair will start as soon as first pair tags them at the start/finish line.
  • One athlete can be performing a movement at a time while the other rests, reps may be divided as desired
  • Athletes must wait to transition to each movement together, i.e. all of the wall ball reps must be completed before the athletes start the slam ball
  • Reps can be partitioned as desired
  • Jump Rope - Rope must pass under the athletes feet twice for a double under (DU’s) and only once for a single under (SU’s)
  • Wall Ball - Squat on wall ball must be below parallel and ball must hit the target, athletes can change position while the ball is in the air, if the ball does not strike the target and athletes are switching place that previous attempt will be a no-rep
  • Slam Ball – athlete must have knees, hips and arms fully extended with the slam ball above their head at the top position of each rep before throwing the ball towards the floor
  • Deadlift – barbell must travel from the floor to the athletes hip, finish position is indicated by the hips and knees fully extended with athletes shoulders behind the barbell
  • Burpee Box Jump Over – chest & thighs must make contact with the floor during the burpee and both feet must contact the top of the plyo box as athlete travels over the box, the rep is finished when the athlete lands on the other side, second athlete can not start their rep until their partner lands on the other side of the box, Rx & Masters athletes MUST jump up on box, scaled may step up.  Hands may NOT contact the plyo box for any of the athletes.
  • If a team doesn't finish under the time cap their score will be 20:00 with a tiebreaker of total reps completed.

EVENT 4: 
"Jacked & Strapped"

Top 10 teams in the Men's & Women's Rx Divisions and top 4 teams in the Men's & Women's Scaled & Masters Divisions.  This will be the final event for the scaled and masters divisions.

Standards
  • Relay style event, 1 athlete working at a time.
  • Rx & Masters athletes must break parallel at the bottom of each pistol squat and extend their hip and knee completely for the rep to count.  Pistol Squats will be alternating, athletes must complete a successful rep before switching legs.
  • Scaled athletes must touch the knee to the ground and stand with full hip and knee extension for each walking lunge rep to count.  If a rep is missed on one leg it needs to be repeated before moving on to the next rep.
  • Bench press must start from a fully locked position and finish in a fully locked position, each rep the bar must physically touch the chest.  If a judge touches the barbell at all the rep doesn't count and must be repeated starting from an extended position elbows locked.  Judges are allowed to help guide the bar back on to the rack once reps are completed, or if an athlete needs to re-rack the bar and take a break.
  • All athletes will start with a Left handed single arm farmer carry, upon finishing the bench press portion they will complete a Right had single arm farmer carry back to the start position, sending the next athlete into their round of work.

"Yoked Up"

Top 5 Rx teams in the Men's and Women's Divisions.

Standards
  • Relay style workout for time.
  • Yoke weight will increase and muscle up reps will decrease from athlete 1 to athlete 4.
  • Yokes will be loaded in a back rack position.
  • Ring muscle ups will start from a fully extended position elbows locked and finish at the top of a ring dip with elbows fully extended.
